Arnab Basu is a practicing artist and educator trained in alternative education systems, with a practice rooted in visual and performance art. Drawing on the teaching philosophies of Rabindranath Tagore, Rudolf Steiner, and J. Krishnamurti, his work and pedagogy emphasize experiential, interdisciplinary, and place-based learning. A full-time faculty member at Srishti since 2011, Arnab engages in interdisciplinary projects that integrate sculptural practice with performance, spatial design, architecture, and scenography. His work foregrounds environmental art, ecological design, earthworks, conservation, and community-led creative practices. An Associate Professor at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore; Arnab is a Co-Director of the ‘designEARTH lab’ and teaches across Foundation, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programmes.
