Dharmendra Prasad (IND)
Dharmendra Prasad gets stuck between the ecological and industrial time practices. He is a community organiser and an artist, who founded Harvest School and Library of Illiterates in Buxar, Bihar and co - founded Anga art collective(Assam). Dharmendra navigates through questions around rural, crafts traditions, toil, caste/hierarchies, agrarian urgencies, extraction, winds, horizon, deteriorating seasons, agricultural fields and threshing floors. He is a follower of rural philosophies, imprints of slow agricultural practices, and more than human happenings in villages of Bihar and Assam. Through practice of Harvest philosophy Dharmendra Prasad harvests/creates possibilities of imagination, collective thinking, civic infrastructures in rural, possibilities of physical toil and cultural time, that are stored as residue in the backyard of industrial life's goal.
Through the medium of need, urgencies, time, toil and soil his practice gets cultivated and tilled-up in the form of place making, gatherings, videos, paintings, photography, texts, events, travelogue’s and beyond.
Born in-between stories, discrimination, hierarchies, chaos and silence, full of winds and dusts, without any address, Dharmendra practices between the fields of Gangatic plains to the villages, water bodies and rainforests of northeast India.
