Jorge Menna Barreto (BRA)

Jorge Menna Barreto is an artist and educator whose practice engages site-specificity as a relational process between art, ecology, and social systems. His work often unfolds through long-term, collaborative projects that intersect pedagogy, environmental justice, and more-than-human relations. He is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Art and Social Practice program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where his teaching explores art as a form of ecological inquiry and care. His projects have been presented internationally, including the 32nd São Paulo Biennial, and frequently mobilize food, landscape, and collective learning as artistic media.
