Kitchen Alchemy is a live kitchen installation at Forplay Society that positions the domestic kitchen as a relational site where lived experience and everyday forms of knowledge take shape. Rooted in domestic life, the work draws on its routines and material textures as a mode of artistic inquiry. Centering children as primary narrators, the installation recognises their voices, drawings, gestures, and conversations as legitimate modes of knowledge sharing. These child-authored contributions foreground embodied and non-linear forms of storytelling, challenging adult-centric narrative authority. Operating as both installation and home-style café, Kitchen Alchemy employs hospitality as an artistic method, inviting sustained engagement and framing togetherness as a co-creative practice.
