Thinking Münster through compost: Kompost Konferenz on 25-26 June
On June 25-26 2026 the Kompost Konferenz, the Kompost Konferenz will take place under the motto “Thinking Münster through compost.” The Kompost Konferenz emerges in the interstitial space between ecology, science, art, and practice. The conference engages with concrete actions and urgent questions concerning survival on Earth. In response to the planetary crisis, cyclical regeneration takes center stage: everything turns in circles, and every ending transforms into a new beginning!

16:00 -17:00 From the Kompost Festival in Münster to the Soil Assembly in the Andes
A tour through the exhibition offers insights into local and global sites of human-soil care and stewardship.
17:00 -18:00 Drops & Compost – Where to go with the dirt?
A practical exchange for compost toilets with Roland Wolf (NetSan), Nikolai Wystrychowski (Mobile toilet/Hansaflotte)
18:00 – 20:00 Holy Shit, you are also compost!
An entertaining short film evening with the documentaries “Holy Shit” and “Compost Being”
Friday 26.6
9:00 – 16:00 in the Haus der Nachhaltigkeit (Hammer Str. 1)
A transdisciplinary workshop on participatory methods for the socio-ecological transition in Münster (registration required).
18:00 – 21:00 in the Schlaunscher Garten (Von-Kluck-Str., access via parking, Haus der Caritas)
In a vibrant and diverse gathering, we will come together for a garden picnic to exchange ideas about different ecological cycles. Featuring workshops and information on urban gardens, compost (toilets), fermentation, socio-ecological transition, soil care, and much more. A convivial picnic that connects, dissolves, and recomposes. You are warmly invited to contribute with your homemade ideas, stories, pasta salads, spreads, kombuchas, and much more!
The conference is organized by StadtLabor Münster and is part of the regional soil assemblies series organised with the support of SoilTribes and the European Union.
